“It was fabulous,” said Pam King, president/CEO at the conclusion of the first-ever Shred, eCycle & Share Saturday at The Ranch.

The unofficial tally from the event, hosted by the Better Business Bureau and sponsored by Guaranty Bank and Trust in conjunction with National Secure Your ID Week, includes:
    • 530 vehicles from throughout northern Colorado.
    • 2 trailer trucks completely filled with computers, monitors and other electronics for ecycling by Waste-Not Recycling.
    • 5 tons of personal documents shredded by Apex Shredding Inc.
    • 7 barrels of nonperishable and canned goods for both Larimer and Weld County Foods Banks plus cash donations.
    • 231 gently used coats donated to Coat for Folks.

For most attendees, this was their first shredding or ecycling event. Some brought a few items, others packed their vehicles with used computer equipment and documents for shredding.

One consumer brought papers dating back as far as 1985 and another brought his wife’s Apple IIe computer. “She has a Dell now,” explained the husband.

Everyone who attended received a packet of information on how long to keep certain documents and what to do if your personal identity is stolen along with information about event participants.
